Some of the web pages in the Forresters Beach Probus web site are
changed fairly regularly.
It
may be when you go to one of our pages that your web browser calls up a
copy of the page from the "Temporary Internet Files" that your browser
stores on your hard drive. This can be a good thing if you visit a page
more than once a day. Loading the page and, maybe, lots of pictures,
from your hard drive is a lot faster than re-loading from the internet.
However, if the web site has changed between the first and second
viewings then you might be seeing outdated information.
This can most commonly happen for these pages on our web site when
viewing them for a second or more time in the one day:-
Front Page
Web site updates
Social Calendar
Pictures Page
so it would not hurt to do a refresh when viewing these pages.
Refreshing, or reloading, the page can be done by using one of these
methods:-
- Click the "Refresh" or "Reload" button which
looks like this:-
In Internet Explorer - top right
corner of the page
In Firefox and
Chrome - to the left of the address bar.
In Safari - at the
right end of the address bar.
- Right click on the web page (but not on a link
or a picture) and select:-
Refresh (in Internet Explorer)
Reload (In Firefox)
- Press the function key F5
- Look at the top of the web page for the line:-
If this page
looks out
of date
then Click
here to refresh the page
It is under the heading at the top of the page and
the and
click on the link. This method can work if the
other two fail to reload the page. (This is only shown on the four
above mentioned pages as they are the main ones that are regularly
updated).
