INSTRUCTIONS FOR CREATING
AN FTP LOCATION IN
WINDOWS VISTA AND WINDOWS 7
Open "My Computer" and right click on a blank area. You
will get a menu that looks like this:-

Click on "Add a Network Location". A new window will open that looks
like this:-

Click on "Next" and another window will open:-

There
may be more than one item under the heading "Where do you want to
create this network location". If so, click on "Choose a custom network
location" (as shown above) then click on "Next". Another window will
open:-

In the field "Internet or network address" type the following:-
ftp://ftp.forrestersbeachprobus.org.au
It MUST be all lower case!!
You can select the above text, copy it, then paste it into the box if
you like.
Now click "Next" and another window will appear:-

Click on "Log in anonymously" and the tick next to it will disappear.
Now, in the "User name" field type in:-
uploads
It MUST be all lower case!!
It should now look like this:-

Click "Next" and you will see this window:-

Under "Type a name for this network" you will see this already entered:-
ftp.forrestersbeachprobus.org.au
This is simply the name that will appear in "My Computer". I prefer to
give it a more meaningful name such as:-
Probus Uploads
so that it looks like this:-

Click "Next" and the next window will look like this:-

At
this stage, click on "Open this network when I click finish"
to
remove the tick. The main part of this document will deal with opening
the location
Click on "Finish"
If you reopen "My Computer" then you should see the new network
location represented by an icon that look like this:-
